Rockin' & Rollin' Geology Special

You're intivited to board our time machine on one of four trips up Robison canyon to learn about the geology that made the Robinson district a top copper producer for more than seventy years during the twentieth century. An on board geologist explains the history of copper mining and the geology.
The Rockin' & Rollin' Geology Special pulls out of East Ely only four times; scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Saturdays May 21, June 18, July 30 and August 27. Join us for this rare trip, a miners meal is included in the ticket price along with a souvenir cup. Reservations are suggested; seating is limited. Call the museum toll free at 1-866-40STEAM (or 775-289-2085) or order online.

BBQ Trains

Come hungry for a real western BBQ. The meat has been slow cooking all day over mountain mahogany coals in a BBQ designed as replica of locomotive 40 . The meal includes finger licking ribs, beans, baked potato, coleslaw, and a freshly baked roll. Beverages include your choice of ice tea, water, or soda. Beer or wine is extra. Adults $52; Children (4-12) $25; Children under age 4 ride free.
We depart East Ely at 6:30 p.m. on four selected Saturday evenings: May 28, June 25, July 16, August 6, and September 3. Call the museum toll free at 1-866-40STEAM (or 775-289-2085) or order online.

The Chocolate Express

The Chocolate Express departs from the East Ely station on three Saturday evenings: June 11, July 23 and August 20 at 6:30 p.m.
Join us as we head up the hill to watch sunset and enjoy chocolate. Some people don't just "like" chocolate—they are absolutely, completely, enamored with and addicted to this food, like no other substance on earth. Quite simply, chocolate makes them feel good. They put a piece of it in their mouth, close their eyes, and slowly swoon into euphoria as the sweet, gooey stuff spreads warmly over their taste buds, caressing their tongue with sensual texture and deep, rich flavor. It is no accident that the Latin name for cocoa (Theobroma cacao), from which chocolates are made, translates as "food of the gods." Beverages include your choice of ice tea, water, or soda. Beer, wine, or champagne is extra.
"Research tells us that 14 out of any 10 individuals like chocolate."
—Sandra Boynton, Chocolate: The Consuming Passion
Adults $52; Children (4-12) $25; Children under age 4 ride free. Call the museum toll free at 1-866-40STEAM (or 775-289-2085) or order online.
